Commodore Callback?

I’m thinking about asking for a Commodore Callback for Christmas. It’s the opposite of a smartphone. Well…sort of, anyways. Someplace betwixt maybe?

My first cellphone was a little silver flip. Could have been a Nokia, I don’t remember. That was 20 years ago. Anyhow, click the link up there. It’s Commodore’s page(s) about this phone and they can be preordered there. I feel that $400 is reasonable for something like this. The only problems I have, and it ain’t just me, is that there’s no way to check email. I do not use my laptop, like ever. I need to be able to check it on the go. The mission statement is that social media is bad for your mental health which is so true. I had facebook for years and it torched some of my loooongtime friendships. Those sites bring out the absolute worst in some people!

But yeah, people need email. For business, personal, to keep in contact, whatever. Email is NOT social media. It also blocks browsers. I’m not clear on whether or not it has a native browser. I think it should have it’s own that blocks socmed and news sites. A native browser with it’s own search engine, also restricted from socmed. It would be the perfect phone! Obviously Commodore could easily implement these things if enough people request them. So I’m heavily considering it, but I need answers on some things. I’m not so attached to my iphone. It has not yet melded with the skin of my hands like it seems to have with some people.

Additionally, the Callback flip phones are beautiful! Look at them! They have the old Commodore logo integrated into the design. I would get the Stardust style. Whoever designed them deserves a raise. I also just realised that the first PC I ever used, the one dad got dial up from our local community college for in 1993, was a Commodore! I was today years old when I learned that, it’s on one of those pages I linked. We had an Amiga 500 (so called because that was the amount of ram) and I always assumed Amiga was it’s own brand! My uncle installed 500 ram more so I guess it was technically an Amiga 1000? Lol.

I’m hoping they might at least change their stance on email. I would love to ditch the iPhone, except for Apple music. I’m not actually sure if the music library is still playable without the phone service. I’m not the brightest crayon in the box. I don’t understand a lot about phone providers (we have AT&T) and what still works after the services are cut off. Give my dumb ass a break 😅 To quote Forrest Gump, I AM NOT A SMART MAN.
